The PetseaRo® reverse osmosis seawater desalination system is designed to withstand the most demanding operating conditions (24 hours/365 days) in marine and industrial environments. It is adopted worldwide in offshore platforms, vessels, submarines, and land-based facilities. We also manufacture auxiliary systems such as optional membrane cleaning systems (CIP), remineralization filters, and UV systems in-house.

Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane water makers and conventional vacuum evaporation water makers each have their own advantages and disadvantages as follows. We recommend selecting either reverse osmosis or evaporation type depending on the water usage purpose and consumption. The biggest advantage of the reverse osmosis type is that no heat source is required. It is possible to produce water even when the ship is docked (while the main engine is stopped). Furthermore, in cases where large amounts of fresh water are needed, such as on cruise ships, with the reverse osmosis type, large capacity can be easily achieved simply by increasing the RO membrane and pump capacity, and the advantages, including cost benefits, become greater as the capacity increases.

Energy recovery systems can be installed in large reverse osmosis seawater desalination plants, significantly reducing equipment configuration, materials, and power consumption. Energy recovery systems are an innovative approach using the latest technology, consisting of high-efficiency pump systems that save energy by reducing power consumption without decreasing overall efficiency, combining pressure exchangers and booster pumps. Using this equipment, the size of high-pressure pumps can be reduced, saving up to 60% of power.
